And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. ~Jude 1:22, 23

About "Gay" Rights? Our country seems to be divided on the gay right’s legislation. Some say that those that oppose it are against it because they do not have compassion for the citizens of our great country. These statements are so far from the truth! I am a God fearing, Bible believing citizen of the United States of America, and have been my entire life. As a born again Christian, I search the Bible for the answer to every question or problem that comes my way. Therefore, I must go to the Bible to tell others what it says about gay rights and my country (Isaiah 58:1; Ezekiel 2:3-5; 33:1-11). The first act of homosexuality recorded in history is found in Genesis chapter 9. Noah got drunk, and his own son committed the first act of homosexuality. From there, we must find out what the entire Bible has to say about the matter. The Bible says in Leviticus 18:22, if a man "lies with mankind, as with womankind:" it is an abomination. In other words, it makes God sick. Romans chapter 1 calls it vile affections and unnatural. "Well, that’s the way they were born." That is a statement I hear a lot, and it is not true. Nature itself proves that to us. If men were born to sleep with men, and women with women, the human race would be no more. Romans 1:24 tells us that it is dishonoring to the body, and I Timothy 1:10 calls it self defilement. Now that we have looked at what the Bible says, we need to see the results of it, how it relates to our leader's position on this mater, and us how it will affect our nation. In Genesis 18 and 19, two cities are mentioned: Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 18:20 says: "And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous." What sin was being committed that God calls "grievous?" One answer: the sin of homosexuality. What was the result? Chapter 19 verses 24 and 25 say: "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground." They were completely destroyed! I don’t know about you, but I love my country. "God bless America" are words that we hear often spoken by political leaders. Why should God bless our land when we bring reproach upon ourselves. Proverbs 14:34 says "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Jude 7 tells us that Sodom and Gomorrah are an example for us. They suffered the vengeance of a holy God because of this great wickedness. When one opposes the position, it's NOT because the are hateful people, but because they love and care for others, and they do not want to see our nation destroyed! I want to thank those leaders, and our President for having the boldness to stand against the pressures of the wicked. Now what we need is for the rest of the God fearing citizens of this country to stand up for them by getting on their faces before God almighty (II Chronicles 7:14; Ezekiel 22:30). If not, we too will be destroyed. America, it is high time we get back to doing what it says on our currency, "In God we trust!"
